Last week i had the opportunity to play this board game for the first time, i had always wanted to play this ( ok for like a few weeks but heck it i like to dramatise) and gathered a few friends to test it out! Most of us read up the rule book at home which we downloaded before playing the game, so as not to waste anytime learning at on that day and slowing down game time ahah. We met at settlers cafe at katong and began the epic journey, which was somewhat disappointing.

I think it was because we played the game very fast as we were racing against time to complete it before our time was up. The game seemed too dice orientated and not really about team work and strategy, it has quite a huge luck factor in terms of movement combat and direction of the game. As first timers we could beat the game 2/2 times we played and totally owned the 2nd ancient without anyone being devoured I cant really conclude the game to be crappy but playing it slower and really getting into the story that is unfolding and watching your friends running around the board away from monsters is quite entertaining. Not a board game for people looking for the in depth rpg element and competition. Good stuff anyway, 1 game down, twilight imperium to go!
