Today i had a pleasant shock when i logged into facebook, someone had IMed me... Normally you would think think that person had sent me a msg into my inbox or something. But its an actual IM application on facebook! very easy to use and familiar to most.

What does this mean? I can predict that this is a really smart move on the part of facebook. It is establishing itself well as the social network of choice and is constantly updating itself. Users may just login to facebook just to get online to IM with friends! I dont see it taking over msn but it would be widely used.

As a user of facebook, you are much more connected to your friends in facebook. Whether you know them well or not, getting to know even more without doing much. Its a good day in social networking.
